Locked out of WordPress Admin Dashboard Print

  • 0

It is common for website owners to have trouble logging into the WordPress Admin Dashboard. WordPress CMS Software is vulnerable to automated brute force attacks, because there is no limit to how many times users can submit an invalid password before finding the correct one.

There is a security feature that locks the account after 5 failed attempts. Most likely someone is trying to access the site using the admin account and this is causing the account to be locked.

These unauthorized login attempts are common, and the best solution is to limit the number of attempts in order to keep the website secure.

You can click the “Lost your password?” link to reset your password and unlock your account. See attached image. Another solution would be to change your account name to something less common. A common username is more prone to unauthorized login attempts.

We recommend you do a password reset by clicking the “Lost your password?” link. The “Lost Password” link will reset your account and easily resolve any issues you may have accessing the WordPress admin dashboard.
