How to change the homepage banner image

You can provide the banner image for homepage only by editing homepage and using Top Banner Area Settings meta box, as displayed in screen shot below. From the WordPress admin dashboard go to Pages, them select the homepage to edit. Scroll down the edit page until you see the Top Banner Area Settings option.

Note: In order to make changes to your WordPress website, you must log into the WP Admin Dashboard. You can get to this dashboard by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site’s url (e.g.: example.wordpress.com/wp-admin). You must have Admin priviledges to access the WP Admin Dashboard.
